Ford has unveiled a new Liquid Carbon package for the high-performance Mustang GTD, showcasing advanced racing-inspired technology and lightweight carbon fiber construction.

The package was revealed at California’s Laguna Seca Raceway, highlighting how the GTD builds on the legacy of the IMSA Mustang GT3 race car.

Carbon Fiber at the Core

The Liquid Carbon package eliminates traditional paintwork, leaving exposed carbon fiber across the body panels. This not only emphasizes the vehicle’s aerodynamic, motorsport-derived styling but also reduces weight. Compared to the Mustang GTD Carbon Series, the new bonded carbon fiber doors alone cut 13 pounds.

Chief Program Engineer Greg Goodall described the edition as “the ultimate expression of the Mustang GTD’s high-tech, high-performance construction.”

Precision Detailing

Key exterior elements — the hood, roof, rear deck, and wing — feature a carbon weave that aligns precisely along the car’s centerline. Matching fenders and side panels create a unified pattern across the bodywork.

Additional details include:

  • Black Brembo brake calipers with anodized finishes and gloss-black GTD script
  • Standard Performance package, also fitted to the Mustang GTD Spirit of America edition

Design Manager Anthony Colard noted that precision in these details reflects the same care required to compete at the highest levels of racing.

Interior Upgrades

Inside, the cabin combines black leather and Dinamica microfiber suede, accented with Hyper Lime stitching across seats, door panels, console, and steering wheel. A reflective gradient stripe runs through the center of the seats, adding a contrasting design element.
