Activision has released the first gameplay trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, confirming a global release date of 14 November 2025.

The new title, developed by Treyarch and Raven Software, will continue the long-running Black Ops storyline. The official synopsis places the game in 2035, following events from Black Ops II and Black Ops 6. Players will once again take control of David Mason, son of the franchise’s original protagonist Alex Mason, as the Black Ops team faces an enemy that uses fear and psychological warfare as primary weapons.
The trailer, released on 19 August, shows locations from earlier Call of Duty titles reimagined with surreal, distorted environments, including shifting buildings, oversized weapons, and robot adversaries. The footage is set to an industrial remix of Metallica’s “Master of Puppets.”
Fictional corporation at the centre of the campaign
The story introduces a new entity, The Guild, a technology company depicted as a major player in robotics and defense. Marketing for the game has included fictional advertisements for the firm, complete with fake magazine covers, billboards in San Francisco, and a dedicated website featuring descriptions of robotic products such as the “D.A.W.G” unit, “G-R5” droid, and “Legion Drone.”

Some promotional material has even portrayed The Guild launching an initial public offering (IPO), with one trailer segment showing an executive ringing the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange.

Availability
Activision confirmed that Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, as well as on previous-generation PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles. The game will also be available on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass from day one.
This is the first time Activision has released back-to-back titles in the Black Ops subseries.
